  • Develop a strong pipeline of new projects and customers
  • Development of new prospects
    • Maintain prospect and customer information though a customer relationship management (CRM) system
  • Indirect and direct customer contact such as visiting customers’ sites, attending trade shows, etc., to increase sales
    • Build relationships with prospects and customers, thus building customer loyalty
    • Represent Nelson Baker in a professional manner
    • Travel 70% of the time
  • Proposal Development
    • Work with customers to clearly define project scope
    • Assessment of project requirements to be able to provide all needed information to the engineering and estimating staff
    • Interface with the Nelson Baker team to develop proposals
  • Identification and development of new channels for providing value to customers
    • Interface with Nelson Baker’s marketing team on customer and market research to identify and develop new channels for providing value to customers
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed



  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in a relevant technical field or previous technical sales experience with exposure to the construction industry or construction projects
    • 2+ years experience within the Ethanol and other biofuels, Ag Processing, BioChemicals, BioPlastics, or BioMass industry(ies) is preferred
  • Microsoft Office Products including OneNote and Access
  • CRM software
  • Adobe Acrobat professional
  • Estimating Database
  • Document Tracking Database
  • Excellent verbal, written and computer communication and technical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimum instructions, maintain records and high degree of accuracy
  • Compelling negotiation skills with motiviation and ability to meet sales goals
